Your Videotape is Fading Away!
The Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) media is a relatively new format, really gaining acceptance with consumers only in the last 3 to 5 years. DVD is basically the next generation of the Compact Disc (CD), but with a lot more storage, 4.7Gb versus 800Mb, with CD. This has taken the digital age to the next level by allowing for it to enter the Home Theatre arena. With the new Digital Video Recorders (DVR) entering the market, the need for videotape, mostly VHS, has all but disappeared.
Believe it or not the picture quality of the tape degrades with each viewing. Transferring your videotape to DVD will stop this process dead in its tracks. A DVD can be played over and over again, with each successive viewing providing the same quality and clarity of the first and DVDs have a suggested 100-year lifespan allowing you to pass them down for generations. Also, the current generation of video processors allows for an existing videotape to be transferred to DVD with almost no loss in picture quality. This all means you need to react now before your videotapes fade away.
Delete any unnecessary files like temp files, and empty the Recycle Bin on you desktop.
